FIRST OPEN MATCH WIN

Local angler James Taylor won the Bishops Bowl Lakes open match for the first time on Sunday, with 22lb 14oz of roach and small carp on Walworth Lake.

James said, "I only decided to enter at the last minute, so it was a bit of a surprise, and to think I've now got a place in the March final, I am really pleased.

Shaun, the fishery owner explained, 'we are holding a 'roll up' contest, where entrants to all open matches between now and March all stand a chance of winning a substantial amount of money. It has the makings of an exciting March competition.

Second on Sunday was Rob Bassett with 22lb 8oz, third, Ron Allum 19lb 8oz.

Open Matches continue at the fishery every Saturday and Sunday.
